Learn to Orienteer: Coaches

Learn to Orienteer programs are currently running, and more are planned… but we need more coaches!

  • A Learn to Orienteer coach teaches the fundamental orienteering skills to people wanting to become more systematic with their navigation.
  • It is a great chance to bridge those new to orienteering into club membership, develop juniors or increase confidence of current members.
  • The time is right to become a coach! OA has recently developed an abundance of Learn to Orienteer resources to make the coach’s job easier.
  • The Play Well grant assists coaches to be paid for their time. And the new online learning makes gaining the accreditation flexible to your time.

You can start the journey now on the Orienteering Learning Centre. Sign in and enrol in the Learn & Play coaching accreditation. Brodie and Daniel will host an online practical session mid-December, and the assessment tasks can be ticked off while you run a Learn to Orienteer program.

There’s lots of support at the national and state/territory level. We would love you to be part of our coaching team! Need more information? Join us for an information on Monday 11th November 7:30pm (check Eventor for zoom details). Or email Daniel at participation@orienteering.asn.au
