To participate – club members can compete in all events including Championships and Relays and can win state and national awards. Most entry fees across Australia are discounted for club members. You receive reciprocal rights if you go interstate or overseas to compete.
To stay in touch – being a club member is a great way to meet people, and to keep up with orienteering news and coming events. Club members receive the quarterly Australian Orienteer magazine (hard copy or digital)
To learn new skills – clubs offer coaching, training, and the chance to get involved in setting orienteering courses and volunteering with organising events, and to even learn how to make an orienteering map.
To stand out – most clubs have competition tops that are colourful, comfortable and distinctive.
To travel – team up with clubmates and head interstate or overseas to orienteer. Orienteering based travel is a great way to see parts of Australia and other countries that are often not on the usual tourist itinerary.
