Performance

Strengthening planning, practices and boosting performances of elite orienteers.

Creating a winning culture

The Orienteering Australia Performance Programme provides a top-class training environment and support structure to the best orienteers.

High performance sport refers to athletes, sports teams and sports organisations that are focused on elite performance.

At the heart of high-performance sport is the conditioning of the athlete, with the aim of optimising individual and team performance and keeping them at the top of their game. You will gain skills in sports performance and analysis, exercise programming, and strength and conditioning of athletes. You’ll learn to design and deliver programs that enhance athletic performance and reduce the likelihood of injury and illness.

Our Program

The focus of our program is on our squads, both State and National, training, and competition opportunities.

The high performance program includes:

  • Australian teams
  • National Squads
  • State Squads
  • National League competition

Elite ranking Scheme

The elite ranking scheme ranks our junior and senior elite competitors in both women and men classes. It is based on athletes best five results over the last twelve months.
