Interested in competing internationally as part of an Orienteering Australia team? Check out the details on the selection criteria for orienteering and mountain bike orienteering national steams.
Orienteering Australia (OA) selects teams to compete in several regular international competitions. These include the annual World Orienteering Championships (WOC), Junior World Orienteering Championships (JWOC), the bi-annual World University Orienteering Championships (WUOC), Test Matches with New Zealand (the junior and senior Australian Bushrangers teams), occasional Australian Schools Team competitions with New Zealand and teams for Australia/New Zealand Challenges.
OA publishes selection criteria and the process for nominating to be considered for inclusion in these teams several months in advance of team selection. For competitions where the date and location are known, this shall occur not later than 31 October in the year prior to the competition, or 2 months prior to the first selection trial, whichever is earlier. For other competitions and squads this should occur as soon as practicable.
Completion of anti-doping education is a mandatory requirement for team selection.
