Congratulations to the survey winner

Thankyou to everyone who completed the first time orienteering survey. We wanted to hear from people who had started orienteering in 2024. You told us: why you came, what we did well, how to make the newcomers experience better and more valuable information.

Your feedback will help guide a new project we are starting to help the beginner experience to be even better. We want newcomers to feel welcomed, confident in navigating, and have a lot of fun.

The random spot prize for those who completed the survey in 2024 is an official orienteering top of the Australian team. It has been signed by some current and former Australian team members.

And the winner is… Madeleine (ACT)! Congratulations.

Some interesting stats:

  • 36.7% found out about orienteering from a friend
  • 76.7% said they would consider signing up to a club
  • The ‘Exercise’ and ‘Challenge’ were the top reasons why the participants liked the orienteering experience

Look out for more surveys and prizes coming soon!
