2026 World Cup Round 1 Team Selection

Orienteering World Cup Round 1 will be held in Switzerland from 24-26 April 2026. Across the three days, athletes will compete a Sprint (24 April), Sprint Relay (25 April) and Knock-Out Sprint (26 April) in Ascona Locarno- an area known as “Where Lake, Mountains and Mediterranean Spirit Meet”.

The following athletes will be competing for Australia:

Women: Michele Corrigan (Garingal Orienteers, NSW), Mary Fleming (Central Highlands Orienteering, VIC), Heather Muir (QLD)

Men: Henry McNulty (LOST, WA), Kylian Wymer (Melbourne Forest Racers, VIC)

Team Leader: Mary Fleming (Central Highlands Orienteering, VIC)

They will be racing through a region that offers a unique combination of lake landscapes, alpine mountains and deep valleys, with famous natural areas such as the Verzasca and Maggia valleys, spectacular viewpoints like Cardada-Cimetta, and more than 1,400 km of hiking and outdoor trails.
