2026 Australian MTBO Team for World MTBO Championships Team Announced

The Australian MTBO Team to compete at the 2026 Junior and Elite World MTB Orienteering Championships in Sweden from 24-30 August has been decided.

Following the selection trials at Yakandandah and Chiltern in Victoria over the weekend of 15-16 April, the following athletes will be representing Australia.

Will Whittington (TAS)
Ricky Thackray (WA)

The team will be racing in Sweden, a country renowned for its technical terrain, extensive trail networks, and strong orienteering heritage. The Championships will provide a challenging and exciting test against the world’s best MTBO athletes.

Orienteering World Cup Round 2 will be held in Skara-Lidköping, Sweden from 28-31 May 2026. Athletes will compete in a Knock-Out Sprint, Sprint and Sprint Relay.
