Nominations open: 2024 ASC SPORT VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD

The orienteering community can nominate a valued volunteer for the 2024 Australian Sports Commission Sport Volunteer of the Year Award. This award recognises volunteers who have made an outstanding contribution to sporting organisations, clubs, teams or programs over the past year.

Orienteering Australia appreciates the importance of volunteers to our sport. From hosting the Australian Championships to making a newcomer feel welcome at a local club, coaching a school’s team to collecting controls, everybody’s contribution helps to make orienteering the wonderful sport we love.

The ASC is expecting an incredible array of volunteer nominations from clubs, state/territories and national sporting organisations this year. Previous award recipients were recognised for their efforts giving back to community sport, with winners across a broad range of volunteer roles in coaching, officiating, administration and fundraising.

Nominations are now open and will close on Wednesday 23 October 2024. Full nomination criteria and the submission portal can be found on the AIS Sport Performance Awards website.
