Winners Announced for the Orienteering Research Survey Prize Draw

Orienteering Australia has officially announced the results of its national Prize Draw, held this week to thank participants who completed the 2025 Orienteering Research Survey. Hundreds of orienteers and newcomers entered for the chance to win major gear prizes and outdoor adventure vouchers.

Supporting Participation Through the Play Well Grant

The survey and prize pool were made possible through the Australian Sports Commission’s Play Well grant, supporting the expansion of Learn to Orienteer programs nationwide. The survey data will help shape how Orienteering Australia attracts and supports newcomers, refine Discover Orienteering and Learn to Orienteer programs, and inform the next national Participation Plan.

Major Prize Winners

The four major prizes were awarded to:

  • Kylie B – Winner of outdoor adventure shoes (valued at $250)
  • Andrew B – Winner of a SPORTident Air – contactless timing device (valued at $140)
  • Clare N – Winner of an orienteering compass (valued at $120)
  • Zoe S – Winner of a brand-new orienteering top

$50 Voucher Winners

Following the major prizes, fifty additional entrants were drawn to win a $50 outdoor adventure voucher. All the winners are listed below.

Referral Scheme

The survey is a chance for to hear from people one step away from orienteering. Current orienteers are encouraged to share it with their friends, family and colleagues. This will also create an opportunity to invite them to try orienteering at an upcoming event.

The referral reward remains open—anyone named by five people as their survey referrer will receive a $20 voucher, Be quick, it closes at the end of 2025.
